October

October was really busy. Joshua turned 8 (and was baptized) and I turned 30 (and ran my first 1/2 marathon).

Joshua opening presents in the morning. He loves sharks and loved this shirt.

We went bowling at NDSU and ate pizza outside afterward. It was a pretty exahausting day, because the party happened three hours after I finished the 1/2 marathon. Needless to say, I did NOT make a cake or giant cookie but went to Cashwise and bought bakery cupcakes.

I ran the 1/2 marathon with my friend Angie. I have to say I would have stopped to walk if it wasn't for her, but we ran the WHOLE way without stopping and finished at 2 hrs 15 min.

The kids cheering me on:

Angie and I at mile 5. We were feeling really great. In fact, I thought at this point "no problem, sign me up for the 1/2 in May.

Near the finish line. At this point I was ready to be done!

I love love love the races here in Fargo. The crowds are great. Everyone comes out to cheer. There was even a bagpipe band. This man had jingle bells and shared with Joshua. We're so lucky to live in such a great community!

And of course, Halloween!

Hey girl, did you ever think that cross country in highschool was preparing you for that moment? Remember when 7.5 mile run for practice seemed like death? that is why I have no desire to run a half. You are amazing! Congrats
